My Playart Diecast Scale Model Toy Bus Collection

Playart
Producer scale toy/model diecast buses as well as other small various scale die cast toy vehicles. Made in Hong Kong, it is unclear where the company was headquartered. Playart toys were sold under a number of names in the United States including: Peelers as sold in Woolworth stores, Road Mates as sold in Sears stores, Freewheelers as sold in McCrory stores. Playart models were also distributed as Charmerz (for New York distributor Charles Merzbach - per Wikipedia). Some models can also be found packages marked Playart and Die-Cast Metal, these packages feature dual language printing that appears to be French. These buses feature metal and plastic parts and are comparable to toys like Hot Wheels and Matchbox.

Scania CR112 Coach
The Scania models are 1:87 HO scale and feature three opening sets of doors. All the models I have observed have leaned to the door side of the bus.

The MCI models are 1:156, close to N scale. These models appear to be an identical casting of the Tomica MC-8 Greyhound.

Large Double Decker Bus
This toy is very similar in size & style to the Matchbox K-15 Super Kings Double Decker Bus - The Londoner. Many dealers incorrectly identify this toy as a copy of the Matchbox bus. However, when both toys are compared side by side it is clear that they are different castings. There are a number of variations of this model, all are scarce.
