Fleet Equipment Diecast Toy Cars
Ever popular with most diecast toy manufacturers are fleet equipment vehicles such as police cruisers & taxi cabs. As such there are numerous different castings and variations thereof.
Mattel Hot Wheels Sheriff Patrol / Fire Chief
Produced for numerous years and a number of different variations is the Sheriff Patrol. Originally called the Highway Patrol this casting appears to be based upon the 1978 Dodge Monaco. This model is one of my own personal favorites.
Release year #: 1982
Item #: 2019
Variation: Black, 4 door tampo, 701 roof tampo.
Release year #: 1985
Item #: 9526
Variation: Dark blue metal flake, 2 door tampo, 701 roof tampo.
Release year #: 1986
Item #: 4005
Variation: Fire Chief, door tampos only.
Corgi Juniors Buick Regal
This interesting casting can be found in a number of different variations including marked and unmarked police cars, taxi cabs and plain color cars. This model can be found with two different frame variations, one with a level rear suspension and one with a lifted rear suspension. I find the lifted rear suspension gives the car a meaner looking stance.
Variation: Black and white police car, door tampos only, red light bar.
Variation: New York City Police NYPD P.D.9
Variation: Taxi Cab - Multi-spoke rim.
Variation: Superman City of Metropolis Police Dept
Matchbox MB 16 Superfast Ford LTD
Can be found in a few police/sheriff variations as well as a few taxi variations as well.
Variation: SP 16 State Police
Matchbox MB 10 Plymouth Gran Fury
This casting was made by Matchbox for a limited number of years. There are relatively few variations of this model.
Variation: G12 Blue Tampo
